My gosh! God knew what he was doing when he created this masterpiece. The Swiss Alps is an absolute favourite of mine! It is stunning. Not like any place I’ve seen before. Photos doesn’t do this place justice. Crossing the border from France, it changes from the architecture, to the use of land, agriculture and the vibe is different. We were headed for Grindelwald, a small town located in the Alps. Along the way we passed a lake. This lake was incredible, situated between huge mountains and the bluest of waters falling straight from the mountain tops. The sun was setting which made for the most beautiful drive. From then I knew I was going to like this place. We arrived at Grindelwald and was greeted with this.
Jangfrau otherwise known of as ‘The Top of Europe’ is where we headed the following day. 3471m above sea level, we had to stop a few times on the way up to adjust ourselves to the altitude change. The air was thin and noticeable when climbing stairs especially at the top. If you get a chance get to the top of Europe. It’s well worth the stunning views on the train ride up.
Snow covers the mountain tops (in the middle of summer). I must mention it was around 34degrees celsius in Grindelwald meaning quite a large temperature change. Spent a few hours exploring what the alps have to offer and enjoying the chills.
Seriously! Switzerland is the best. Everyone is relaxed and happy. It’s such a lovely atmosphere walking the streets and enjoying the scenery. I got quite snap happy when roaming.
Thank you Switzerland for being so kind and beautiful! I will visit you again for much longer. Huge huge recommendations if you’re wondering over to this part of Europe. Take a squiz, you won’t be disappointed.
